Vacuum Pin Tubes

Evacuated Pintubes feature a weakend bubble portion on the side. This weakened section melts on contact with the molten metal, causing the molten metal to be drawn into the evacuated tube. Much simpler than drilling samples out of hardened ingots. Break off glass from metal sample after cooling to provide a single, solid metallic sample.

Special spring steel tongs are available to hold the tubes for safe and convenient handling.

Samples can be drawn from a stream, ladle, or directly from within a crucible.
